Treveddoe Farm House and the Barley Crush

Treveddoe is an 85 year old farmhouse on the site of an Elizabethan Manor on Bodmin Moor and it was originally built for the mine manager of the Treveddoe mine. It stands in its own farmland at Warleggan, facing south with wonderful views. The farm has sheep and South Devon cattle; you are welcome to walk over it, but please respect the animals. The fields behind the house at the top of the farm lead onto Bodmin Moor, a famous Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The moorland river Warleggan tumbles through the lower part of the farm in the valley and the land offers good walks through the 25 acres of ancient woodland. The bluebells, wood anemones and foxgloves are beautiful in the spring and early summer. Historic Treveddoe Mine (tin and copper), now almost hidden by nature, is nearby, with evidence of the old workings in the river valley.

Treveddoe Farmhouse and The Barley Crush are brilliantly placed for exploring and enjoying a Cornwall self catering holiday. The houses have been comfortably furnished and equipped with everything to make a perfect family holiday. Both houses display a varied and attractive collection of contemporary art, some painted by the owner Jenny Hill-Norton who is a founder member of the Hampshire Artists Co-Operative.

Nothing is too distant from Treveddoe and the Eden Project is only 20 minutes away. Several well known beaches are an easy drive away for fun filled sunny days out! It is perfect at any time of the year; in the summer for long lazy lunches and picnics in the surrounding fields and woods or in the winter for when bright sunny days make walking positively exhilarating and a cosy log burning fire awaits your return!

In November 2017 the Big Barn was the location for our "Yoga in Cornwall" holiday and it was run for us by very talented local yoga and dance teachers Jen and Lisa.

Jen at Ocean Flow yoga was fabulous, a very uplifting and nourishing teacher. Her yoga studio in Newquay offers amazing silent disco yoga practices as well as a range of courses to suit all abilities. Visit the website - - for more details and contact information.

Lisa at Mind Body dance was also amazing and just inspirational, a really beautiful and strong practice doing 45 minutes of dance pilates, then 45 minutes of yoga, it was very rejuvenating. More details about her various classes and dance workshops can be found on her website -

Treveddoe has been our family holiday home for over 20 years and we hope that you will enjoy it as much as we do!

Logs, electricity, water and bed linen and towels are included in the rental. Please bring your own beach towels.
